Focus Attention on Annie Duke

Mrs. Duke mightn’t have earned her first WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but she is still one of the most feared poker players around the cash games at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "buried game" of Omaha hi lo.

While competitors from the "younger crowd" of poker run crazy after a huge win at the tables, Annie goes home and becomes "mom" to her four kids. Annie was born in New Hampshire into a family of poker competitors. If you don’t believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who educated her how to play the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has succeeded at her share of hard tables, including knocking out Howard a few times along the way. They’re both players that have the capability to win the big $$$$$ and do it with a grin.

Mrs. Duke is a tough competitor at any table because she is a natural poker player, but it’s a little more than simply being great at the game. Annie Duke is surprisingly intelligent and graduated from Columbia U where she double majored in English and Psychology.

When you are seated across from Annie at the poker table you know Annie Duke is there to compete in the game and she begins "sizing" you up from the time you join the table. If you can’t gamble like a winner, then don’t bother.

Earning over three million dollars in tournament competitions, Annie became a adviser to both the UltimateBet poker room and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to hone his skills and grow into a force at the poker table.

You will likely catch a glimpse of her at the Bellagio, you will observe her on the tv and you may even compete against her in an on-line poker match, but don’t expect a simple win. Except of course you are a champion-in-the-making, you will not beat her. Although, it’d be fun to mention you played at the same table as "The Duke".
