No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn anything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from others kill his goal of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.
Phil began competing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning experience and winning wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed many of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal passion for poker. Phil states that he’s learning every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a normal basis.
