No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the planet by most of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup everything he could about the game. Phil would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.
He began competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an undying love for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes errors in each game of poker and always strives to improve.
Although Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
