Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is given 7 cards faces showing and the house gets 7 cards face down.
A five card hand and one two card hand have to be put together from the seven cards, the five card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the casino’s.
